Completed - Sweet 1/144 P-51B/C Mustangs x 4

  Well it has been a while since I have updated this blog.  I have done a few things since the last update, breathing mostly.  So to everyone who reads this regularly (yeah right!), I wish you all had a good Christmas/New Year/Hangover.

  I don't actually remember how far I got with the WiP's on the 4 Mustangs but they are done.  Piccies here...

  These where all taken on the phones camera, but haven't come out too bad.  The canopies suck, but at least they are finished.

Sweet 1/144 P-51B/C Mustangs x 4 - WiP 1

   Well here is as far as I have gotten with these 4 little Ponies.  Nearly there, had a little problem with the varnish on the Japanese one.  But I think I have solved it.

 

Please excuse my dodgy camera skills, these where taken on my phone.  You get the idea tho.

New(ish) Project Sweet 1/144 P-51B/C Mustangs x 4

  Hello one and all,

  It has been a while since my last post. I have been a little busy.  Where do I start?  Well I finished one course at college (yay!) and I have now started a new one (woohoo!).  I have started a new job, I now work in IT... scary stuff.  So far there has been a lot of sitting down.  Then I have a few problems with my car.  One of them being that it decided to leak petrol all over the road.  Had to call out the fire brigade, I shut down one of the roads onto my island or about an hour... all good fun!

  Anyhow, enough of that crap.  I started these Ponies way back in May I think (surprised they where not up on this blog now that I think about it). These where started for the Mustang STGB that was being held over on Britmodeller.  Due to all of the fun I have been having the last few weeks I didn't finished before the deadline which was 3 weeks ago.  Anyhow, here come pictures of the progress I have made.

This is where I was upto until last week.  There will be another post with the almost finished Ponies.

New Purchase - Sweet 1/144 P-51 B/C Mustangs

  Here is the second batch of models I got from HLJ and Sweet,

   Apparently I had ordered this one a while ago, I do not remember doing so!!  I kept it as I can use the models for the Mustang STGB next year. 

  The otherside of the same box, the artwork hasn't really caught my attention.  So I will leave the decals in the bank incase I decide something else later on.

 
   All of the various options for this set.  The bottom right one is growing on me tho.  I will need a 5th model to make that one tho. ;)

   Now this is the set I wanted for the STGB, I love this picture.  The Sharkmouth doing what it was designed for (scarying the living crap out of... neko-chans... (my Japanese is a little rusty)).  For some weird reason, this version isn't actually in the box...

  Here we have the same aircraft, but this is after the Japanese got their mits on it.  I will have to get around to reading up on the history of this aircraft.  Lucky looks like he has just had a good fart... dirty cat!

  All of the versions you can build in this set, I have decals for a captured Spitfire IX also.  I need to get the Eduard set for that one tho.  I really like the Japanese and Swiss ones for some reason.  

  The sprues, not much to write home about really, the cockpits are completely dire.  Thinking of getting some AM stuff for it.  But then I am not too sure if it will be seen once the cockpit is closed.

 The decals for both sets.  I guess I could make that US version from the other set... will have to get a 5th model for that.  I might get some more Mustangs when I do a next order from HLJ in the new year.

Completed Revell P-51B Mustang III x 2

  Well here they both are, totally finished.  First ones of the year. :)

 

 

Despite the grey being too dark I dont think I have done too bad on these two. :)  Only really built them as a learning exercise.  Now to finish off the Fritzer, MiG 1.44, Hurricane IIc and F-19 Stealer oh and the CF-188A.

WiP 4 - Revell P-51B Mustang III x 2

  Nearly done, all I gotta do is to retouch some bits that need it and matt varnish it and I'll call these two all done. :)  I'm sure the props are the wrong way on, that'll learn me for taking what Revell say for granted.
